A537 Cl.1
Data verifiedASTM A537 Class 1 is a heat-treated carbon-manganese-silicon vessel plate — essentially A516 chemistry given a normalizing treatment to refine the grain and lift toughness and strength for thicker, more demanding vessels and low-temperature storage.

Applications & Processing
Applications: Pressure vessels, API 650/620 storage tanks for refrigerated and pressurised product, spheres, low-temperature process equipment.
Processing: Welds like a quality C-Mn vessel plate with standard low-hydrogen practice; normalizing after hot forming may be needed to restore properties.
